The Punjab government has announced a policy to remove male professors and teachers from women’s universities across the province. Governor Sardar Saleem Haider stated that this decision aims to prevent harassment and ensure a safer educational environment for female students. He emphasized that strict punishments will be enforced against individuals involved in harassment within educational institutions.
In addition to replacing male staff with female educators, the government plans to overhaul the examination system to protect female students from blackmail and harassment. University administrations have been directed to implement these changes promptly. Performance evaluation forms will be distributed to vice-chancellors and professors, with future rewards and penalties based on these assessments.
This initiative is part of broader efforts to enhance the safety and well-being of female students in Punjab’s educational institutions. The government is also focusing on restructuring examination systems and implementing performance-based evaluations for university staff to create a more secure and accountable academic environment.
