“Pakistan’s Bold Nuclear Leap: Will C-5 Transform the Energy Landscape?”

Pakistan is building its largest nuclear power plant, the Chashma Nuclear Power Plant Unit 5 (C-5). C-5 is a 1,200-megawatt electric (MWe) plant that uses advanced third-generation Pressurised Water Reactor technology designed by China.

The plant is expected to be operational in 60 years and will increase Pakistan’s nuclear energy capacity by 27 percent.
