Meta, the parent company of Facebook and Instagram, has announced a program to lure TikTok creators to its platforms. The “Breakthrough Bonus” program offers $5,000 to popular TikTok creators who join Facebook and Instagram. To be eligible, creators must post original videos on Meta’s platforms and meet certain engagement metrics.
This is not the first time Meta has tried to poach TikTok creators. Recently, Meta launched a video editing app called “Edits” that is similar to TikTok’s “CapCut” app. Additionally, Meta has introduced a new feature that allows creators to add links to their videos, making it easier for them to monetize their content.
The move is seen as an attempt by Meta to capitalize on the uncertainty surrounding TikTok’s future in the US. With TikTok facing a potential ban in the country, Meta is trying to attract its creators and users to its own platforms. The company has also made changes to Instagram’s layout, making it more similar to TikTok.
