Karachi and Dhaka Reconnected by Air After 10 Years.

After nearly a decade, direct flights between Karachi and Dhaka are set to resume, marking a significant development in air connectivity between Pakistan and Bangladesh. Bangladesh’s Civil Aviation Authority recently granted approval to Fly Jinnah, a Pakistani private airline, to operate flights between the two major cities. Fly Jinnah, a budget airline established as a joint venture between Pakistan’s Lakson Group and UAE-based Air Arabia, aims to bridge this crucial air travel gap, promoting tourism and fostering stronger bilateral ties between the nations.

The approval is a welcome step towards enhancing trade and business collaboration. Previously, travelers between Karachi and Dhaka had to rely on connecting flights through other countries, resulting in increased travel time and expenses. The introduction of direct flights will make travel more convenient and cost-effective, thereby encouraging more passenger traffic.

Fly Jinnah is now in the process of appointing a General Sales Agent in Bangladesh, after which detailed flight schedules and frequencies will be announced. This development reflects a positive shift in aviation relations between the two countries. The move not only strengthens economic ties but also promotes cultural exchange and tourism opportunities. With improved connectivity, businesses from both nations are expected to benefit from easier access to markets and investment prospects.

Moreover, the aviation industry is optimistic about further collaborations between airlines from Pakistan and Bangladesh in the near future. The resumption of direct flights between Karachi and Dhaka is a promising sign of improved regional cooperation. It is expected to open up new avenues for collaboration and bring the people of Pakistan and Bangladesh closer together, strengthening bonds that have the potential to thrive in various sectors.
