The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has dismantled a human trafficking network involved in illegally sending people to Europe. The operation, carried out by the FIA’s Anti-Human Trafficking Circle, led to the arrest of several agents who were charging exorbitant fees from individuals seeking to travel abroad. According to officials, the traffickers demanded between Rs2.5 million and Rs3.5 million per passenger, promising them safe passage to European countries through illegal means. During the crackdown, law enforcement authorities recovered fake travel documents, passports, and other evidence proving the agents’ involvement in the illicit operation.
Many victims, lured by false promises of a better future, were left stranded in foreign countries without legal status or protection. The FIA has launched further investigations to trace other members of the network and ensure strict legal action against those responsible for exploiting desperate individuals. Human trafficking remains a serious issue in Pakistan, with many people falling prey to fraudulent agents due to economic hardships and limited legal migration opportunities. Authorities continue to urge citizens to verify travel agencies before making arrangements and to report any suspicious activities to prevent such crimes.
