The Punjab Chief Minister’s “Dhee Rani” programme has entered its second phase, aiming to facilitate 1,500 additional collective weddings for underprivileged couples across the province. This initiative, led by Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, reflects the government’s commitment to supporting marginalized communities and upholding cultural traditions. In the first phase, the programme successfully organized 1,500 collective weddings, providing comprehensive support to the newlyweds. Building on this success, the second phase has commenced with applications now open.
Interested individuals can apply online through the official portal at cm.punjab.gov.pk or submit applications in person at the Deputy Director Social Welfare’s district offices. To assist applicants, a dedicated helpline (1312) has been established for programme-related inquiries. The programme offers a comprehensive support package for each couple. This includes a meal for the bride, groom, and their close relatives during the wedding ceremony. Additionally, each couple receives a monetary gift of Rs. 100,000 via ATM from the Chief Minister, along with essential household items such as furniture and clothing to help them start their new lives. Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has expressed her deep affection for the daughters of Punjab, stating that she feels immense joy whenever a daughter’s home is established.
