By A U.S. lawmaker has introduced a new bill that proposes heavy penalties for individuals using the Chinese AI app “DeepSeek.” According to foreign media reports, Republican Senator Josh Hawley has put forward this legislation to prevent American citizens from using artificial intelligence developed in China.
If passed, the law would restrict the import of Chinese technology, with violators facing up to 20 years in prison and a $1 million fine. Businesses found violating the law could face penalties of up to $100 million.
