Recently, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin offered a $100,000 reward to anyone who can decipher the script, sparking renewed interest.Researchers have employed various methods, including machine learning and statistical analysis, to unravel the script’s secrets.
Nisha Yadav’s team at the Tata Institute of Fundamental Research has made significant progress, identifying 67 symbols that account for 80% of the text.
Despite advances, the Indus script remains an enigma. Its brevity and lack of a bilingual artifact hinder deciphering efforts. However, researchers remain optimistic, believing the script holds the key to understanding the ancient Indus Valley Civilization’s language and culture.
