The hassle of keeping multiple chargers is now over, as Europe has implemented a law mandating the use of Type-C chargers for all devices. This regulation, approved by the European Union Council in October 2022, has officially come into effect.
Under this law, only Type-C chargers will be used across Europe for mobile phones, tablets, digital cameras, headphones, video game consoles, portable speakers, e-readers, keyboards, mice, and other similar devices.
Additionally, starting April 28, 2026, the rule will also apply to laptops. This move aims to eliminate the need for consumers to purchase various chargers, helping save approximately 250 million euros annually, while also reducing environmental impact by encouraging reusable chargers and cutting down on electronic waste.
